This is an incredibly rare "Smuggler's" Telecaster from 1967. This short-lived idea started as an effort in weight relief, and is a predecessor to later semi-hollow "Thinline" Telecasters. Three large cavities were routed in the ash body under the pickguard. This guitar has a great playing neck with a rosewood fingerboard, "See-thru Blonde" finish, and 3 ply white pickguard, and the original bridge pickup offers the perfect Telecaster tone that can go from James Burton to Jimmy Page! This guitar is truly part of Fender and guitar history, and with very few examples out there, these don't come up for sale often!
