Check out the feature from our luthier Tyler in the ECG Newsletter:

"Without any exaggeration, this Stratocaster is truly one of our favorite instruments in the shop. While we have a soft spot for player-grade guitars, this particular Strat stands out even among the original examples in our inventory. Although the refinish may prevent it from ending up in a museum, the rest of the guitar remains completely untouched, except for a highly professional refret and a replaced bone nut. The refinish was expertly carried out by our friend and local legend Joe Riggio, renowned worldwide for his exceptional vintage finish work, and this guitar is no exception. The refret and nut replacement were skillfully executed by Holger Notzel of Baton Rouge, another highly respected luthier specializing in vintage instruments. Rest assured, there are no compromises with this guitar.

What more can be said about slab board Strats that hasn't already been mentioned? They are revered as a blue-chip Fender model for good reason. The original pickups on this Stratocaster are incredibly robust and well-balanced, delivering highly usable tones in all positions. While the bridge pickup on a Strat is often criticized for its thin and tinny sound, this particular pickup surprises us all with its richness and warmth across all frequencies. The breathtaking Brazilian slab fretboard remains at its original thickness, undoubtedly contributing to the instrument's prominent snappy midrange. When strummed unplugged, the resonance of this Stratocaster is astonishing, a quality that only becomes more pronounced when amplified. Some argue that this is the best way to assess the quality of a vintage solid-body guitar, and this Stratocaster unequivocally affirms that theory."
