Everyone knew that kid whose parents bought him a brand new Strat and he was so fussy about it that he wiped it down between sets (or even between songs) and he wouldn't let anybody else touch it. This 61 slab board is a collector grade Strat that probably was the prize possession of that kid in the 60's who played it for a few years and then put it away. It was played but well cared for. Everything is original down to the frets. The original strap and cord are in the case. There are a few chips here and there and some light worming on the back from a belt buckle but it doesn't go through the finish. There is no neck wear. Body date is July 61 and the neck date is August. The little stuff that you expect to be worn or broken is not...the case handle has all its leather and stitching and the springs in the spring latches still work. This little stuff separates the collector grade stuff from the stuff that approaches museum grade. This one has few to many dings to be called museum grade but its one of the cleanest I've seen in a very long time.
