1961 Fender Stratocaster Walter Becker

I don't usually buy (or sell) celebrity guitars but this one kind of spoke to me. I'm a big Steely Dan fan and while most of Walter Becker's guitars were boutique builds, there were a few vintage pieces that I'm sure he enjoyed owning and playing. I think if David Gilmour's Strat is worth 3.9 million, the Walter Becker's Strat is worth more than the usual 61. Walter Becker was more than a little important in rock and roll musical history. It's a slab board, of course and has a nice birdseye neck. It still has its original 3 way switch. The color is unusually vibrant-no fade at all. Plenty of player wear on the neck and dings and scratches to the body but no arm wear and not much buckle wear. It's a killer player. Looks like it once had a press on letters spelling the name "Billy" that were removed leaving a bit of an imprint above the guard on the bass side. Walter didn't care. neither should you. It is all original but it's missing its ashtray. Original brown case.
