1969 Fender Stratocaster, Original Custom Color Black. Neck is 100% original, with original finish and tuners. No extra holes, no extra string trees, etc. Original frets are in excellent condition.
The body was routed sometime in the past, probably for a humbucker in the middle position. The bridge pickup area was also modded to some degree. Unfortunately, there was also some modification around the jack area, and this was also repaired sometime in the past. This required overspraying the area surrounding the jack. The rest of the body is the original factory custom color black.
The guitar has it's original grey bottom pickups for perfect Hendrix tone, also included is the original pearl backed pick guard, which has yellowed nicely with age.
The pots have been replaced as well as some parts of the bridge assembly, including the saddles and the trem block. These have been replaced with correct vintage reproductions. The trem bar is a reproduction, and the hole where the trem bar goes into the bridge is enlarged.
This is an amazing sounding guitar, and is very nice to play.
The serial number is 263XXX. The neck date is SEP 69. Neck is a nice, full C shape, measuring .875" at first fret and .968 at 12th fret. The guitar weighs 7 lb. 7 oz. with trem bar installed. Original pickups are healthy, original, and give perfect vintage readings, Neck to Bridge, 5.5K Ohms, 5.5K Ohms, and 5.4K Ohms.
