Olympic White, original finish, with replacement neck and the original neck dated August ’71 that was refretted and has a single string tree. But the original neck is badly back bowed. We installed a new $800 Fender ’60’s American Original neck and some staggered height Kluson style tuners. No string tree added because of the staggered tuners like the Eric Johnson model strat.
This is a very rare opportunity to have a custom color four bolt Strat for a reasonable price. The pickups are grey bottom 70’s stagger pole pickups with new wiring and pots from 1978.
You can see the wear and the bar smoke on the original finish. The new owner may choose to clean it up but it has honest wear and has no residual odor. Has the original bridge, saddles and knobs. The single ply white pickguard is changed along with the 5 way switch. This is the last year for the four bolt neck before they went to the three bolt.
The guitar is still super resonant as most well played guitars are. One strum and you’ll hear an almost acoustic sound. The staggered pole pickups sound great. Their outputs are 5.92K in the bridge, 6.53K in the middle and the neck pickup reads 6.60K. The new neck is great with nice tall frets.
If only old guitars could talk and tell us of its time in bars. Not that it matters, but we got this from the original owners family. Comes with a period correct hard case and trem arm.
