Description

Summary: The Fender Stratocaster is arguably the most iconic, most played, and most copied electric guitar design of all-time. Fender launched the Strat in 1954! This particular Fender Stratocaster was made between 1979-1981 and it plays and sounds great!

Body: Solid body, double cutaway Stratocaster with a well-worn black finish.

Neck: Maple neck with 21 frets, black dot inlays, 25.5” scale length, 1 9/16” nut width, comfortable C shaped neck profile, 3-bolt connection to the body.

Pickups/Hardware: 3 single coil pickups, chrome hardware, original “F” stamped tuning keys, original whammy bar, black pickguard, black pickup covers, dot inlays, 5-way selector switch.

Cosmetics: This vintage Fender shows normal wear consistent with an instrument from the late 1970’s. There are lots of scratches on the pickguard & various nicks & dings on the body. There is one big ding on the upper back. The back of the guitar has some buckle rash & scratching. The neck looks like it has been played a lot – there is noticeable wear on the fingerboard and the frets do show signs of wear, however, they do still have life left in them.

Playability: This Fender has recently been set up with a new set of 10’s and the action is low & the instrument plays great up & down the fingerboard. The fingerboard does show lots of wear but it also has that worn-in, comfortable feel. The frets show some wear but they still have lots of life. The truss rod was fully tested & it works both ways.

Modifications: There is a place on the pickguard where someone installed a toggle switch at some time in the past but it has been filled & now it is wired back to original.

Weight: 10 lbs, 11 oz.

Case: This vintage Fender ships with the original hard shell case & it also has the original black tip whammy bar!
