Summary: This Stratocaster has been heavily modified and stripped of most original parts. The Neck, body, saddles and bridge/trem are original and the tuners are vintage Fender tuners from the late 60s or 70s, likely from a mustang. Someone has routed the pickup cavities deeper and tried stripping some of the finish but gave up possibly after realizing it would be too much work. It has a loaded pickguard from Lindy Fralin with really great sounding Lindy pickups and has just been setup and restrung by our in house guitar tech. It plays and sounds great despite its mods. It will ship in a high quality Fender hard-shell case.

Body: Original body – very cut up with routed pickup cavities & a body plug on the neck heel - with 3 tone sunburst finish and topped with a 3 ply b/w/b pickguard.

Neck: Maple neck with large 70s headstock, bullet truss rod, rosewood fingerboard, pearloid dots, walnut skunk stripe, 25 ½” scale length, 1 9/16” nut width, 2 string trees, 3 bolt neck with neck tilt adjustment.

Pickups/Hardware: It has a loaded pickguard from Lindy Fralin with high quality pots and wiring, 3 single coil pickups, Vintage Hot Neck, Vintage Hot Reverse in the middle and Vintage Hot Bridge, volume and 2 tones, original saddles and bridge, vintage Fender F replacement stamped tuning keys with white buttons (probably from a Mustang) and 5 way switch.

Cosmetics: There are a couple nicks on the end and around the edges of the headstock, a small cigarette burn on the edge of the headstock, a ding on the treble side of the neck by the 5th fret but the back of the neck is in good shape otherwise. Someone sanded the finish off the bottom of the heel, maybe trying to change the neck angle or another failed attempt at stripping the finish.
The body has its share of cosmetic issues. Someone has sanded some of the finish off around the edges, back and horns. The oddest thing is a strip on wood which has been carefully inlayed into the neck pocket and a lip in the finish on the bottom side of the neck pocket where it feels like it has been routed. There are plenty of scratches on the back and some normal pick scratches on the front. The pickup routs have been routed deeper and the bridge position has been routed wider as well.

Playability: Our in house luthier has just inspected, set up and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10s and it is playing beautifully with low action and a straight neck. The frets have some wear around the first 5 frets but are still plenty playable and have some good life left in them. Despite all the cosmetic issues this guitar is a great player and sounds awesome with the Lindy Fralin pickups.

Modifications: Changed tuners, sanded body, routed out pickup cavities, changed pickguard, pickups, pots and
sanded neck heel. We have added a lot of photos to show you some details & we are willing to try and answer any questions you may have....

Weight: 9 lbs, 10 oz.
