Description

1986 American Vintage Series '62 Reissue Stratocaster, amazingly accurate rare reissue from the first-year of the Corona factory, original black finish in excellent condition. Weighs in at 7 lbs., 8 oz., in great original condition with V01 serial number and all original parts, including tremelo bar, tailpiece cover and tweed case. Three great sounding American Vintage single coil pickups. Body and paint in amazing condition with very few small dents and next to no scratching. Original extra 5-way switch currently installed; original 3-way in case. (Reissue originally was sold with 3-way switch installed. 5-way switch was part of the case candy accessories and installed later.) First full production year for the Corona factory, but most likely still Fullerton parts. The curve of the deep body contours reflect those made in Fullerton, shape was slightly changed later.

Some neck spex:
Width at nut 1.637 in. 12th fret 2.012 in. Thickness 1st fret .829 in. 12th fret .888 in

Original red-lined tweed case (41-1/2 x 16 x 4-1/2) has some slight staining on the front side, some tarnish on the hardware, otherwise also in excellent condition, all latches and hinges work, ends have some scuffs but all stitching and piping are intact.

Setup (done a while ago) including complete level and crown, hardware adjustment and tightening, and electronics cleaning has made this a great player. As close to the early 60s as you're gonna get at this price!

NOTE: Our black guitars have been incredibly difficult to photograph. Especially in trying to show all of the imperfections and getting a good balance on the white parts. In these photos, most of the body areas that show unevenness of color, white streaks or colored patterns are usually showing reflections. Any finish damages or imperfections of color are always addressed in text and shown in photos the best way we know how.
