1960 Fender Super Amp 6G4 November 1960 "Pink" Brown Tolex

This 1960 Fender Super 6G4 is a super-rare, first-year example of one of the greatest amp circuits of all.
Fender experimented with different Tolex textures in this era. This smoother version with a brown hue that almost appears to be pink did not last long, making such examples very rare.
This particular example has to be one of the cleanest available. The transformers are original, as are the coveted, original Jensen P10Ps. The speakers were reconed years ago and are nicely broken in.
The circuit has been correctly serviced. Electrolytic caps on the board were housed in the original cap sleeves for an authentic look. The previous owner was careful to replace only the parts that were necessary - he knew he had a near museum piece on his hands.
The original footswitch - look at how clean it is. Even the paper envelope that held the footswitch when it left the factory is still hanging inside the cab. You just never see that.
The only significant change is the handle. The repro 'dogbone" is shorter than the original. The previous owner has the hardware moved in slightly and had the four screw holes patched with original tolex.
Tubes are all old, US made Sylvanias.
The amp runs so strong and quiet. A Telecaster just completely blows doors when the amp is pushed. The vibrato is the best ever. This amp is pure pleasure.

When you purchase this item you are hereby agreeing to this shipping policy. We remove tubes from amps that could be damaged in shipping. We remove the chassis from some amps so that the large transformers don't damage a chassis or cabinet. These cases result in multiple box shipments, and they require the buyer to do some assembly on delivery. We do this because we have experienced shipping issues in the past, and this is our prevention measure. Vintage amps are sold as-is because they can need service intermittently. Everything is tested here in our shop on the way into our inventory, and again before shipping. We will cover shipping damage, but we cannot be responsible for the failure of vintage components in 20-to-50-plus year old amps. Shipments will require signature on delivery, no exceptions. If there is damage, the buyer must retain all packing materials intact and picture them immediately and send them to sales@maharsvintageguitars.com. Less than 1% of our shipments are damaged in transit, and we are committed to making sure your item arrives safely, but we are taking these additional measures to make sure you are happy with your purchase.
