1955 Fender Super Tweed Amp 5D4 Tweed

The Fender 5D4 Super Amp puts out about 18 watts into two Jensen P10R speakers, offering some really nutty overdrive and punch with some great sag.
I swapped some tubes when I tested the amp out prior to listing. I put in a new JJ rectifier tube and 12AX7 in the first position as well as a pair of old, matched RCA 6L6s. The tubes that came with the amp, the ones you see in the pictures, will be included with the amp. I was thinking, "Damn this thing sounds killer!", then the tube changes just pushed it even further.
Some upkeep has been done to keep the amplifier working well. A three prog power cable was added. The filter caps have been changed out, and some caps and resistors within the circuit have been updated as well.
The power transformer is original but the output transformer is not. I am not sure of the origin of the output transformer, but it does appear to be a Schumaker from the late 1950s.
The amp has been very professionally re-tweeded. Check out how the lines in the tweed line up at the side/top transitions. The grille cloth looks original.
Having had several Supers over the last 18 months, I can tell you that none of these changes have had a negative impact on the tone or performance of this amp.
A killer piece that'll raise some hairs!
This amp will ship in two boxes - one for the cabinet and one for the chassis. The transformers on these amps are heavy. They can distort the chassis in shipping, if manhandled. Assembly will be required on arrival - don't make the purchase if you are not down with this safety measure.
