Description

Here's a really sweet Tele from 1971 with the right mix of light wear and checking while remaining clean looking - it; really is quite fetching in person! The neck has some nice grain to it, and it feels excellent. The weight is reasonable for a 70's Tele as well.

The frets were professionally changed, and whomever did the work nailed it. I've moved through countless 70's Fenders over the years, and many of them had flat, milled frets that are really hard to play, so seeing this guitar with the wear I mentioned but with killer, clean frets is refreshing!

All the parts and hardware are original. The wiring has had some soldering done however. There is an added ground wire between the controls and the bridge, and for some reason, the person who did this work felt the need to solder the wire to the bridge, which is of course completely unnecessary. They made a very small route under the bridge to accommodate the solder.

The bridge pickup is obviously correct for the guitar and the era, but the tape on the baseplate that says '1971" tells me that it was probably out of the guitar at one point, and was perhaps not original to this guitar to begin with. It is correct with the right wire leads and the tone is great, but it is something I must disclose.

The case is original and is very, very clean. The original bridge cover is included.

Overall, this is a killer player with the look we all are after. It really stands out to me as one of the better early 70's Teles I've laid my hands on.
