Description

In 1965, CBS came along and bought Fender and immediately started making changes aimed at higher profits and lower production costs. They messed with the Stratocaster resulting in the three bolt 70's models, they messed with the amps, they messed with the Jazzmaster and Jaguar but they mostly left the Telecaster alone for
a long time. Probably because it was a very cheap guitar to build from day one. The quality of the wood declined and the weights went up but the Telecaster was still the Telecaster right through the 70's. There were variants that got the 3 bolt neck and the build quality was all over the place but the original Tele endured. This is a 74 and it's on the heavy side but it's an excellent player and it's in great shape. It is all original including the frets. I have the original case and the ash tray bridge cover.
