Summary: The Telecaster Deluxe was one of several updated Telecaster designs of the CBS-era along with the Telecaster Thinline and Custom. The Deluxe wielded two Wide Range humbucker pickups as designed by former Gibson innovator, Seth Lover. Unlike most Telecasters, this guitar also featured a 'belly-cut' contour on the back of the body. This one is from 1976 & it is in wonderful condition and it has recently been set up & inspected by our in-house luthier.
Body: Solid body, single cutaway with a rich Mocha finish that still shows the wonderful characteristics of the wood grain on the top & the back.
Neck: Maple neck with black dot inlays, 21 frets, 25.5” scale length, 1 9/16” nut width, big 1970’s headstock, 3-bolt neck joint and bullet truss rod.
Pickups/Hardware: 2 Seth Lover designed Wide Range Humbuckers, 2 volume knobs, 2 tone knobs, 3-way switch, original Fender tuning keys, chrome hardware, 3-ply BWB pickguard.
Cosmetics: This guitar is in great shape with just a bit of buckle rash on back and pick scratching on the top. There are a few chips and dings around the edges of the body and some wear through the finish on the treble side of the neck. There is some wear through the plating on a few of the pickup corners and some minor finish checking only visible on the back. Overall, this guitar is in great vintage condition with some signs of use over the years but no abuse or neglect.
Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has just inspected, setup and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10s. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functioning and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with very minor wear from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fingerboard with no dead spots or choking out.
Modifications: The saddles have been replaced with black Graphtech saddles and the strap buttons are strap lock style.
