The Froggy Bottom D-Tuned Guitars are a relatively new creation from this small team in Vermont. While all ready offering a 28″ Scale Length Baritone Model, the crew at Froggy Bottom Guitars wanted to create an extended scale length guitar – specifically made to be tuned to D Standard with Medium Gauge strings – but able to be capo’d at the 2nd fret to allow for Standard tuning, with a familiar string tension feel. This makes for a wonderfully versatile instrument that doesn’t require the extra thick strings of a Baritone – but can still achieve a Baritone-like sound. We love this guitar tuned to D Standard, as well as capo’d at the 2nd fret to achieve Standard tuning… But we REALLY love it down in the C and B range, as well. The projection and dynamic range of this longer scale length is truly unique and very inspiring.
