Description

Player grade 64 for less than half what you should expect to pay in this market. Some changes have been made-some big, some not so big but it's a terrific player and that kept me from parting it out. Big change-the neck was shaved to a 61 profile (and refinished)-that's the wide flat "blade" neck. Nut is, as a 64 should be, 1 11/16". Pickups and harness are original. That's good news, so it will sound as good as the $26,000 collector 64 you really want. What's changed...it's got Grover tuners, a later (but still vintage) lightweight stop tail, the bridge is a Tone Pros. Plastic looks good except the volume knobs are good repros. The pickup covers are repro as well. There are two big fat checks across the back of the neck. I think one of them is a crack but, short of removing the finish or trying to open it up, I'm just going to call it a headstock crack and be done with it. If it isn't, then lucky you. Case is very clean original. Body finish is original and in 9/10 condition. I think this is a great candidate for a re-neck or, if you like the wide/slim profile, a good vintage "starter" guitar. Uncut center block like a dot neck.
