Summary: The foundations of much of today's great music were laid down in the 1970s, and much of it was performed on great Gibson guitars of the era. To capture the look, feel and tone of the instruments that made massive music during a decade when rock was king, Gibson USA created the Les Paul Studio '70s Tribute. The Les Paul Studio '70s Tribute offers all the quality and performance that has made the Studio range so popular with hard-gigging guitarists since its introduction in 1983, with crucial updates that ally it with many legendary Gibson guitars of the 1970s. The Les Paul Studio '70s Tribute achieves the unique feel of a 1970s Les Paul with a thin-to-thick neck profile that starts out slim at the lower frets and becomes increasingly chunky as you slide toward the cutaway. In the tone department, it carries a pair of new Dual Blade Alnico Mini Humbuckers for a vintage-edged tone with great versatility, and a visual nod toward the Les Paul Deluxe of the '70s. This particular Gibson has a simple but wonderful Goldtop finish that has a little light checking & a few love marks that add character and make it look like it is older than it truly is.

Body: Mahogany solid body with a maple cap. The mahogany body is strategically chambered for weight relief but this baby still has a nice weight of nearly 9 lbs.

Neck: Maple neck with a roasted chocolate brown maple fingerboard, block trapezoidal inlays, 20 frets, 24.5” scale length, 1 11/16” nut width, Kluson Deluxe tuning keys

Pickups/Hardware: 2 Alnico mini humbucking pickups, 2 volume knobs & 2 tone knobs. This guitar has chrome hardware and the cream colored pickguard & plastics.

Cosmetics: This guitar does show some wear on the top with some signs of checking & a few small dings on the top – there is also a place on the edge of the lower bout where the goldtop finish has worn off and it shows the wood. The back of this guitar is in pretty good shape but I do see some light scratching & a few small dings around the edges. On the back of the neck I noticed a few dings – one ding in the center of the neck where the body meets the neck & the other two dings are up near the low E tuning key & the high E tuning key. Overall this guitar is in good condition & it is ready to be played and loved for years to come….

Playability: This guitar has been set up with 10’s by our in-house Luthier & it is ready to rock! This baby has low action and the guitar plays with no buzzing & no dead spots. The frets are in great shape & have a ton of life left in them.
