On Hold!
Description

We have fallen in love with the relic guitars that are coming out of the Murphy Lab of late and it appears that Tom and his midnight elves are working overtime to produce some really outstanding guitars. We chased this particular Les Paul for a good minute and it was well worth the wait once it arrived at the Elk cave. In both looks and performance, it exceeds expectations from the first holding!

You'll first notice the substantial relicing job on this one, even though it's classified as an Ultra Light-Aged model. Every inch of this guitar has been gone over and it literally looks like a real '56 from across the room. The color is deep and rich and the body and neck remind us of that wonderful, old-growth Honduran Mahogany.

Now about the pickups; The gentleman that we got this guitar from alluded that they didn't sound "paffy enough" and he prefers humbuckers. That's fair enough, but let me state in a court of law that once you plug this guitar into the right amp, these P-90s are as growly and pissy as you want them to be. Cleaned up, the tone is mellow and full- classic Gibson single coil goodness.

The neck may be the most enticing feature of this R6- it's full and meaty without being the ball bat that the R4s are. You will immediately realize that you are not holding a toy when you wrap your left hand around this neck, but a professional killing machine that will both excite and impress you. We've listed the measurements for you at the bottom of the description.

Simply put, this is one of the most impressive guitar packages to come from Gibson in a while and again, I am liking what I see coming out of Tom's lab these days. Today could be the day to treat yourself to the professional-grade guitar you've been searching for.

Please take a look at the photos, let us know if you have any questions and as always, we thank you for stopping by!
