1942 Gibson Banner LG 2 Sunburst, Excellent, Hard
Vintage 1942 Gibson banner headstock "Only A Gibson is Good Enough" LG2 acoustic guitar for sale at Greg's Vintage Guitars. 1 owner Gibson Kalamazoo Gal "Banner" LG2. This guitar was carried through the WW II Pacific theatre by a U.S. serviceman and they both returned safely back to the states. 1 very small "E" string crack addressed by the original owner and in my opinion (I could be incorrect) the bridge plate looks replaced but may also be original as wartime guitars carry some aspects and variations due to wartime restrictions.This shows that the original owner prized this guitar. A new fret job has been done as the original frets were worn and I had to replace the tuners as the originals were frozen and the buttons were crumbling apart. We all know how special these guitars are and the rare reddish sunburst finish adds to her beauty. No cracks and no neckset has been done and presently is not needed, two back cracks observed but neither has movement in them and is not affecting the guitar,a baseball neck on this old girl, Spruce top, wonderful mahogany back and sides, X braced and a slice of tonal heaven. I know I will regret selling this rare Gibson acoustic, but it is what I do " I Sell Keepers".
