1962 Gibson Barney Kessel Sunburst, Mint, Original Hard, $7,500.00

I'm not a big archtop guy but I'm always stunned when a mint 50 plus year old guitar shows up. All original everything right down to the hang tags and strap. The original frets are at 95% or better. This guitar rarely left the house. The original brown case is mint too. There are a few iterations of the Barney and some are more desirable than others. This is the one you want- the standard with a spruce top and (sealed) PAFs. The Deluxe model with its odd headstock inlay, bowtie markers and gold hardware is perhaps a bit inelegant in its ostentation. And yes, the Barney isn't the prettiest guitar ever made but it sounds great and is as clean as if it just let the factory.
