2006 Gibson Custom 62 SG Standard VOS 60's Cherry OX4 Humbuckers
Nearly a half century ago, a 1969 Gibson SG became my first humbucker guitar and one of the primary gigging instruments of my youth. Back then I was looking for the Gibson sound to compliment my Tele, but even then I couldn't deal with the weight and lousy balance that came with the Les Paul Standards of that era. To this day, the SG remains a guitar that evokes many positive memories for me and remains a model that I am particularly fond of.
Offered here is a superb 2006 Gibson Custom Shop Reissue of a 1962 era SG Standard. This limited run instrument is recognizable primarily by it's factory installed Grover tuners, rather than the Klusons you typically find on this model. This all-Mahogany guitar is extremely light weighing just 6 pounds, 11 ounces and it is nicely balanced. The relatively wide SG neck has a 60's C-shape, with depth measurements of .830" at the first fret, increasing to .940" at the twelfth fret and it feels great! The original owner of this guitar installed a fabulous set of British made OX4 humbuckers to replace the standard Burstbuckers and they sound superb; fat and woody with a sweet Allman Brothers vibe. As a VOS format guitar, this instrument received very light aging at the factory consisting of a light patina added to the finish and hardware and remains in excellent minus condition. The only flaws are a few tiny impressions (see photos) which are not easily seen. The frets are in fabulous condition. It comes in it's original hardshell case which while in decent shape, no longer stays propped up when open. The certificate of authenticity is included as well.
Gibson dealers are asking almost $5K for new examples these days, but this well kept 2006 beauty can be yours for half that sum. Get yourself a great Custom Shop SG with this guitar. Make it yours today. You will be very glad you did!

Shipping to Continental US addresses is via FedEx Ground, with flat rate shipping of $60 to Eastern time zones, $70 Central and $80 Mountain/Pacific. Shipping to Alaska and Hawaii is $100. Refunds of the original purchase price less shipping and a 10% restocking fee may be requested within 48 hours of delivery. Exchanges within one (1) week of the original date of purchase may be made for an item of equal or greater value at the discretion of Capital Guitars. Where permitted herein, items must be promptly returned at the buyer's expense, in the same condition as received with all accessories and paperwork included.
