Description

What we have here is a late 66 or early 69 Gibson EBO.
The bridge changed to this style in late 66, and the neck joint seems consistent with that year.
No Made in USA.
The only pot date I can read is a 73 (probably when the bass was modded. Knobs are consistent with that too).

Someone originally mounted a P bass pickup to the top of the body (see shadow & screw holes) and a slight route for the wires.
2 pots & toggle added.
Then it was modded for an EB-3 bridge pickup (of unknown origin ……Ibanez ?) sans varitone (yea!).
Tuners were changed to Ovation branded Schallers.
Hairline crack (been there for decades ) at the neck joint to the neck pickup. Doesn’t seem to affect anything.

But, it plays great & sounds great too !
Frets are excellent.
Neck is straight & truss rod adjusts like it should.
Weighs 7.25 lbs.

Comes with the original mute, as well as an earlier pebble tolex/ yellow lined case. Case is ugly, but totally functional.

All in All a killer vintage utility bass that won’t break the bank !

Due to the modifications, this is sold AS IS, NO RETURNS.
By purchasing, you are agreeing to those terms.
