Summary: “The ES-125 evolved out of the ES-100 in 1941 and was produced until 1943. Upon its reintroduction in 1946, the ES-125 changed in a number of ways including a wider body, a new P-90 pickup, and trapezoid inlays. The ES-125 was updated again in 1950 with an adjustable P-90 pickup and dot inlays. Through the '60s, a number of variations on the original ES-125 were produced including a version with cutaway (ES-125 C), thin-body versions (ES-125T or ES-125 TC)”

This particular guitar is the thin-body version. This instrument is in good condition and includes the original hard shell case.

Body: Thin-body, single cutaway hollow-body with a laminated maple top. This guitar has a very nice maple back with lots of character in the wood.

Neck: Mahogany neck with Rosewood fingerboard. The nut width is 1 9/16”. This guitar has an unbound fretboard with dot inlays. The tuning keys are 3 on a plate Kluson Deluxe.

Pickups/Hardware: One awesome P-90 with one volume knob and one tone knob.

Cosmetics: This instrument has really nice checking throughout that adds a ton of character. There are various nicks and dings on this vintage beauty but that is expected with the age of this guitar. There is one noticeable ding on the top above the F-hole and there are a few visible places on the bottom bout of the guitar that look like someone tried to cover up the dings with tape leaving a small amount of tape residue. On the back there is some buckle wear and there is a lacquer imprint from a guitar strap. There is no structural damage and the guitar looks great!

Playability: This ES-125 TC plays great – the frets are in nice shape and they have lots of life left in them. The neck angle is wonderful and the guitar has a really nice tone.

Weight: 5 lbs, 4 oz.

Case: This guitar comes with a vintage chipboard case. This case is in pretty rough shape but it does have a cool red interior.
