Description

Summary: This thin version of the ES-125 has a beautiful maple top, super cherry sunburst finish, 2 f-holes & a trapeze tailpiece. This light-weight beauty plays and sounds awesome. The simplicity of the single P-90 pickup with one volume & one tone knob and the bound top & back add elegance to this vintage tone machine. This instrument is in great playing shape but it did have a small partial headstock break in the past that was fully fixed and checked out by our in-house luthier.

Body: Full hollowbody with a fully bound maple cap & bound mahogany back & sides. The grain of wood on the back is totally awesome with tons of character. The body is 1 ¾” thick and 16.25” wide at the lower bout.

Neck: This instrument has a mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard, 20 frets, dot inlays, 24.75” scale length, 1 9/16” nut width, original Kluson Deluxe tuning keys with white buttons.

Pickups/Hardware: One single P-90 pickup with one volume knob & 1 tone knob. Chrome Kluson Deluxe tuning keys with white buttons, dot inlays. Trapeze tailpiece, rosewood bridge, gold top-hat knobs, original tortoiseshell pickguard.

Cosmetics: This guitar is in good condition but it does show normal wear & tear consistent with a vintage guitar from the 1960’s. There are some nicks & dings on the guitar – one noticeable ding on the top near the tone knob shows the wood and the finish has been nicked off. There is also a lot of cool checking that is happening throughout this guitar – the top, back & the neck shows various amounts of checking. There is a little bit of buckle rash on the back but the wood grain is so awesome that it is hard to notice the scratches. This guitar has had a partial headstock break in the past near the high E string on the back but it has been fully fixed & the instrument plays and sounds great.

Playability: This Gibson plays great – the action is low & the guitar plays with no buzzing or dead spots. We set this instrument up with 10’s and it is ready to be played and loved for years to come.
Weight: 5 lbs, 2 oz.

Case: Original Gibson black chipboard case with the “Gibson” logo on the inside of the case.
