Blonde ES-330's are rare. Double pickup blonde 330's are rarer there were fewer than 300 made in 59 and 60.
Of those, only 79 were made in 1959. Of those 59's, most have a 60 shape neck because they were made late in the year. A big neck 59 blonde 330 is a once every five years find. This 59 has a medium/chunky neck-not a baseball bat but a lot bigger than a late 59 or 60. First fret measures .86" and the 12th is .98". That's pretty big. This guitar is 99% original-original no wire ABR-1 with an unusually nice set of original nickel over brass saddles, 59 dated harness with bumblebee caps, "burst" knobs, catalin switch tip, early "rolled" truss cover and big hole single line 59 Klusons (replaced tips). This guitar had the tuners changed to Grovers and I changed them back. Original nickel trapeze tailpiece, original P90's, original guard. Frets look to be original and show moderate wear. It still plays well, however you might consider a refret down the road. What's not original? The nut (replaced) and the case (vintage correct). The original blonde finish is in excellent condition with few marks or dings and only fine checking. The only significant wear is some rutting in the fingerboard (trim those nails). P90's are hot and aggressive at 9.52K bridge and 8.39K neck. Case is a correct brown Lifton-a little tatty but totally functional. You could buy a 60 for a little less money (not much less) but you really wanted a 59, right? I think dot neck 330's are wildly undervalued even with the recent rise in prices. Grab this one because you won't see another for a long time.
