1959 Gibson ES-335 Sunburst, Flame top

Artist owned 1959 ES-335. Nice flame top and mostly original. Shows some player wear but it's just cosmetics. The guitar is a killer player. Pro players don't hold onto guitars for decades (and play them on countless recordings) unless they can deliver the goods and this one does it and then some. It has been re-fretted with stock wire. The original Kluson tuners have been re-tipped. Never had other tuners, never had a Bigsby. There are two small filled holes at the top of the rear of the headstock-maybe some kind of hanger? The bridge was moved back to improve intonation-see photo. The work is not visible with the bridge mounted. You could string this guitar with 9's or even 8's and it would intonate-you can't do that on a stock 59. There is fairly heavy wear on the back of the neck but it is smooth. Great, great player. Monster original sealed PAFs reading a very healthy 8.56K and 8.40K. The locknut on the pick guard bracket isn't original. The plastic strap buttons have been replaced with metal ones. Original brown case.
