Description

Well cared for late 1959 ES-335. Neck is transitional meaning it's medium in depth-not the big bat of a neck that 58 and many 59's have. First fret measures around .83" and the 12th is .92"-a lot like a 64. This is not the flat skinny neck of mid to late 60. All parts are original. PAFs measure 8K (bridge) and 8.35K (neck). Guitar shines like new but shows fine finish checking throughout. The front of the headstock was oversprayed with clear lacquer for cosmetic reasons only. No breaks or repairs anywhere. Frets are original. Tuner tips are original which is pretty rare on a 59 (they tend to turn to dust). 5 latch Gibson badged brown case is unusually clean and about as good as a 60 year old case gets. If not for the finish on the front of the headstock, this would be easily a $40,000 guitar. Playability is excellent-the neck is dead straight and intonation is perfect. I don't have to tell you how it sounds. It's a 59 dot neck. what more do you need to know?
