Description

Great tone, great player. All original except the usual...frets and tuner tips. Never had a Bigsby, never had other tuners, never had any mods or repairs. The only thing that keeps this from being a serious collectors piece is player wear and even that isn't that big a deal. The back of the neck has some finish worn off and there is fine checking throughout the finish. Condition is 8+-maybe 8.5. It's fairly light weight at 7 lbs 12 ounces. The neck profile is typical 60 at .825" at the first fret and .89" at the 12th. That's slim but nowhere near the .78" blade neck of 61. PAFs are sealed and read 8.53K in the bridge and 7.75K in the neck position. For classic rock and blues, that's where you want them. Great sustain and clarity in all positions. No wonder this guitar got played as much as it did. You probably really want a 59 but maybe $65K-$75K is a bit out of your range. This 60 will keep up with just about any 59. What are you giving up with a 60? Nothing. Same pickups. Same construction. Slimmer neck than an early 59 but awfully close to the late ones. So, save yourself $20,000 or so and get a killer guitar that can play with the big boys any day.
