Not for the collector. This one has had an interesting life but it still plays great and sounds great and looks great. I bought this guitar more than 10 years ago from a seller who insisted it was a refinished factory red 59. He was a fraud and a liar. He knows who he is. But, it was a great guitar and I owned it for a number of years. I sold it locally to a player who enjoyed it for a number of years after that. Then he sold it back to me. It is, indeed, a 61 but the neck is more like a 64 profile. Medium chunky and it probably isn't the original neck. Brazilian board and dot markers are there but the headstock is a little too narrow to be a real Gibson. It could be that the edges of the headstock were narrowed for some reason but I don't know why that would be. All the parts are good reproductions. The pickups are Wizz Clones (great pickups). It's a great way to get your hands on some great old wood and you can swap out parts when you feel like it. Finish is a beautiful watermelon red. Had a Bigsby but the holes are properly filled. There is slight damage from a cord or strap reacting to the finish but its slight and barely noticeable. I'd buy this guitar before I bought a new one from Gibson. It's a true vintage dot neck with a great neck profile and it only weighs 7 lbs 4 ounces.
