The guitar market has done something it seemed to have left in the dust in 2008 when the market tanked. It's become an investor's market again. With inflation eating your cash, the Russians tanking your portfolio and Covid making you miserable, maybe it's time to buy an investment piece (that happens to be a monster player). Mint guitars are a class by themselves. Anything 60 years old and looking brand new is special. And special requires a premium. Ask the guys who collect action figures about mint. Or the car guys. Or the watch guys. Or the furniture guys. No matter what you collect, mint is a big deal. This is a mint 1961 ES-335. I make a distinction between dead mint and mint. I'd be calling this dead mint but for one light scratch on the back (not through the finish). All original. Sealed PAFs with perfect stickers. Slim but not the blade neck. This is a very early 61-it is one of the last of the "A" serial numbered 335's. In fact, this one got two serial numbers...the "A" number on the label and a four digit on the headstock. I've seen a few of these over the years. This is a no issue, near perfect example that is an excellent investment piece, in my opinion. 61's haven't taken off yet like 58's and 59's. Some have neck issues holding them back-this has none of that. A 59 in this condition would sell for nearly twice the price. Full complement of case candy including the original, unused strap. Case is mint too with the original owners name on the top.
