Nothing like a 64 335 in cherry red. Yes, it's the Clapton year and this one was probably built the same day or maybe the day after that one. Does it matter that it's 31 numbers away from the EC 335? Not to me. It would be priced the same if it was 900 numbers away. I like Eric Clapton but this guitar won't make me play like him. But 64's are great whether Clapton plays it or you do. Neck starts off medium and gets really fat by the time you reach the twelfth fret (nearly 1" deep). That's why 64's are so popular. It's the neck profile. It has patent sticker pickups-same as PAFs except for the $1000 sticker. Most 64's have the cut out center block. Not this one-solid block like a 59. This is pretty close to a no issue guitar-the nut was changed (original in the case is chipped). There is a pretty big scratch on the back but the overall condition is excellent. No checking. A few dings and that scratch. Original frets. Original everything else. Nice black with yellow Lifton badged case. Shipping out of the US requires CITES certification which will take about a week after purchase.
