1966 Gibson ES-335 Cherry with Factory Bigsby & Original Case

Summary: This iconic Gibson semi-hollow beauty is in great vintage condition and is playing beautifully thanks to a pro setup by our in-house guitar tech. The frets are in great shape, the factory original Bigsby vibrato works smooth and stays in tune and the original Pat Number humbuckers sound incredible with a warm voice but lively bite when played hard. It ships in its original red plush lined chipboard case which is also in great condition.

Body: Semi hollow with maple center block, maple laminate construction with cream binding and a naturally aged cherry finish.

Neck: Mahogany neck with 22 fret bound rosewood fingerboard, block inlays, 1 9/16” nut width and 24 ¾” scale length.

Pickups/Hardware: 2 original pat. No. humbuckers, 2 volumes, 2 tones, 3 way toggle, tune-o-matic bridge with nylon saddles, factory original Bigsby, 3 ply b/w/b pickguard and Kluson Deluxe tuners with double ring green keystones.

Cosmetics: There’s some wear through the finish on the back of the neck but it doesn’t impede playability or feel intrusive when playing. There’s finish checking on the body and neck with only a few minor dings and dents. The back of the guitar body is really clean with no major blemishes to note but some typical light buckle rub. The pickguard is a little warped but still looks and functions like it should, there is a bit of corrosion on the hardware, a chip in the switch tip and some scuffs through the finish on the bottom side by the tailpiece. (see pictures) There are some minor grooves worn into the fingerboard in the first few positions, a small chip on the bottom of the low E saddle and a chip in the finish under the 3 way switch. Overall, this Gibson is in excellent vintage condition and has been played but cared for all of its life.

Playability: This Gibson has just been setup and restrung by our in house guitar tech and it is playing wonderfully up and down the neck with low action and a straight neck. The original frets are in great shape with minimal wear, all the notes ring true and sustain without choking out.
