One of the most frequently asked questions I get at www.es-335.com is "what reissue is closest to a real dot neck?" A lot of folks, especially those who own one, will tell you the very recent Memphis dots are the closest. They might be the closest in terms of shape and construction but they don't sound as good as the early '00 Historics out of Nashville. I tell buyers to look for an 03 to 09. It is near mint but it has been modified. It has an added Bigsby B7 (the right one) and it has Lollar Imperial pickups. The Lollars are great pickups-they tend to mimic a low to medium DCR PAF and are very musical. A great match for a 335. Other than those two good mods, it is original. The neck is very large-larger than most actual 59's but that's what Gibson thought everybody wanted (and was right). Dark very Brazilian looking board. I'll throw in a repro "Custom Made" plate if you want to cover the stud bushings. Original Custom Shop black case.
