Description

Summary: Like the Les Paul, the ES-335 stands as one of Gibson's all-time most iconic models. The ES-335 is a semi-hollowbody guitar which means that it has a solid block of wood running through its center with hollow wings on either side. This construction style maintains the open tone of a hollowbody while helping to reduce feedback. The ES-335 was introduced in 1958 and has remained in production in various forms ever since. Starting in 1981, the model was referred to as the ES-335 Dot in reference to its use of dot inlays like the original models from the late '50s. In 1990, it was renamed the ES-335 Reissue.

Body: Semi-hollow electric guitar with a lightly flamed maple top, back & sides. This instrument has a fully bound top, back & neck.

Neck: Fully bound mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard, dot inlays, Grover tuning keys, a 24.5” scale length and a nut width of 1 9/16”. The frets are in great shape & have a ton of life left in them!

Pickups/Hardware: Two humbucker pickups, 2 volume knobs & 2 tone knobs and a 3-way switch. Chrome hardware, black pickguard.

Cosmetics: This 2004 Gibson ES-335 is in great shape – I really had to hold this baby in the light to see any imperfections….. There is some discoloration around the fingerboard where the guitar body meets the neck but I think this was probably there straight out of the factory. There are light pick scratches & a few swirly places in the finish that is noticeable on the darker parts of the sunburst finish but overall this guitar is in great condition. I didn’t even find any buckle rash on the back!

Playability: This Gibson has been set up by our in-house Luthier with 10’s and it plays great. The action is low and the guitar plays without any dead spots or buzzing.
