2018 Gibson ES-335 TDC (1963 reissue) Cherry

Summary: Although the ES-335 kicked off with the "dot neck" in 1958, many players have always preferred the "block neck" version of the early '60s. This beautifully re-created 1963 ES-335TD includes the correct body shape with narrower horns and rolled fingerboard binding for a soft playing feel. This beauty was made in Gibsons’ Memphis Custom Shop, it’s in excellent used condition and is one of the finest playing, sounding and looking 335s to come through the shop here at Empire Guitars. It has just been setup with low action and restrung with a new set of 10s and ships in the original hard-shell case with COA.

Body: Laminated maple with maple center-block and quartered Adirondack spruce braces, semi hollow, double cutaway with single ply tan binding, cherry finish and 4 ply pickguard. Cherry VOS nitrocellulose lacquer finish.

Neck: ’63 carved mahogany neck with bound rosewood fingerboard, block inlays, nylon nut, 1.707” nut width, 12” radius, 22 frets, tortoise side dots and crown inlay on 17 degree angled headstock.

Pickups/Hardware: 2 scatter wound MHS Humbuckers with VOS nickel plated covers, CTS pots, Black Beauty capacitors(.022mfd), Kluson Double Ring Tulip Button tuners, VOS nickel plated non wired ABR1 bridge with nylon saddles, 3 way toggle and 2 volumes, 2 tones.

Cosmetics: This Gibson has been kept in immaculate condition and shows only the faintest signs of use. There are some light pick scratches on the pickguard but no major scratches, dents or dings to note. There are no breaks, cracks, fret wear or visible repairs.

Playability: Our in house luthier has just inspected, set up and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10s and it is playing beautifully with low action and a straight neck. The frets are in great shape with no grooves or divots.
