1958 Gibson ES-355 Red, Very Good, Original Hard,

Incoming. They only made 10 ES-355's in 1958 and they are decidedly different from those that came later. Thin top, big fat neck, gold knobs and a finish that faded like those bell bottom jeans you still have from 1968 that you can't bear to throw out. This one has an added (repro) stop tail and some minor damage (that has been repaired) to the wood near the bass stud. It has had a few different sets of tuners on it from Grovers to regular Klusons to waffle backs and back to patent pending Grovers. Sealed PAFs and original beyond the stuff I've mentioned. The orange label is missing but the FON is 58 and the distinctive 58 features are all there so even without a serial number, I'm confident that it is one of the ten original 58's.
