1981 Gibson ES-355 Wine Red

An exceptionally clean ES-355, this guitar was the last 355 produced for several years as this model was replaced by the BB King Lucille model. A custom ordered guitar, this beautiful, semi-hollow body instrument was built for Tony Mottola who at the time played with Frank Sinatra. It features a vibrant "Wine Red" finish with gold hardware, ebony fingerboard, block inlays, and the Gibson "Varitone" stereo circuit behind so many classic blues guitar tones. This guitar includes all the original paperwork, as well as a Gibson invoice when Tony later exchanged this guitar for a new 335. A phenomenal ES guitar with complete provenance!
