Description

This is a good opportunity for someone who wants to get into vintage but not spend a ton of money all at once. This is a 1960 build (very early 61 serial number) ES-355 mono. It is the same as a 61 dot neck 335 but has fancier bindings, a fancier headstock and an ebony fingerboard. You can build it out with repro parts and slowly acquire the correct vintage parts. It's the old wood that you can't reproduce. Put in a set of Throbaks for $550 and some Gibson Historic parts and you'll have a monster player. Neck is straight, the truss rod works fine. Neck profile is wide/slim-typical 60. The finish on the top shows some light moisture damage-you can see the flaking on the bass cutaway and a little on the bass bout. The original finish has faded top that great watermelon red on the front. The back is still vibrant blood red. No parts except the bridge posts are included. No breaks, no repairs. I will ship it in a modern case.
