1964 Gibson Firebird VII Sunburst, Very Good, Original Hard, $19,000.00

Get in touch with your inner Brian Jones with this rare 'bird. It's a bone stock Firebird VII. You never see these because they made fewer than 200 of them. Probably half (or more) have repaired headstocks. This on is completely intact and original right down to the "fretless wonder" frets. Most folks don't realize that these VII's came with those frets because on the rare occasion that they come up for sale, they have usually been re-fretted. Not this one. There is fret wear and fretless wonder frets aren't so great for big bends but the guitar plays great and sounds even better. The gold is pretty well worn on the vibrola and the pickups although it's mostly intact on the tuners. The body and finish are quite clean and shiny with moderate checking on top but very little on the back (and no rash). Very nice dark ebony board with real MOP inlays. It's a big, busy guitar that calls a lot of attention to itself (which is what playing guitar is all about, isn't it?).
