1955 Gibson J-160E "Sunburst"

Perhaps most famous as the model of choice for the Beatles for writing, recording and performing, the Gibson J-160E was introduced in 1954 and quickly inspired other guitar builders to consider amplified flat tops for live use. This second-year example is one of the cleanest we've seen. Acoustically the guitar has the balanced and woody sound that have made Gibson flat tops a favorite of so many players, while the  original 50's P90 pickup make this guitar hard to beat when plugged in. The large '55 neck profile plays great all the way up the fingerboard, making this guitar perfect for players and collectors alike. This guitar has all the features from the "Golden Era" of Gibson guitars; "Single Line" Kluson Deluxe tuners, gold "barrel" knobs, a "tortoiseshell" pickguard, and the earliest version of a Gibson adjustable bridge.
