Sept 29th PRICE DROP $2000 Now for sale 1961 Beatles Model Gibson J-160E in beautiful all original condition with the original Gibson hard shell case. Super desirable hard to find model exactly the same as the two purchased by the Beatles in September of 1962, the Beatles guitar's serial numbers range was 76XXX this guitar is 16XXX slightly earlier but identical in every respect. Unlike the well used Beatle's guitars this guitar is pristine and 100% original. It does however show some signs of careful usage the worst of which are some pick marks above and below the fingerboard where it extends over the face of the guitar, the front of the peg head has some wear marks in the black lacquer and the guitar has some light weather checking everywhere but mostly confined to the face of the guitar. Spectacularly clean otherwise, this is a crack free instrument with no modifications (added strap pin only) or repairs, a perfectly straight neck with a working truss rod, original frets in great shape display almost no wear. Sunburst spruce top is flat the lacquer finish is glossy, early style guard is down no cracks, original rosewood bridge is down, original ceramic adjustable saddle is intact, even the bridge pins are original. Original Kluson tuners never changed work perfectly look great, large peg head with 335 style inlay, trapezoid inlay in Brazilian rosewood fingerboard starting at the first fret, slim but wide neck profile typical of Gibson instruments from 1961 and considered very desirable by many enthusiasts. Typically and deliberately made to be dead sounding this guitar was designed by Gibson as a straight braced large body electric guitar discouraged because of feedback and sympathetic vibration. The Beatles decided to exacerbate this already dead characteristic by putting on Pyramid flat wound strings further changing the frequency response in a unique way and that sound became an often used acoustic guitar sound popularized by the Beatles, then copied by many. It's a great "thing" for recording or the perfect live instrument for any accurate Beatles impersonators out there. A truly great example of a very desirable single sound hole ring Beatles variant J-160E a guitar that was on the bench at Gibson just before the Beatles guitars were, thanks. Was Only $8499. Now Only $4999. Thanks, VGA

We ship USPS Priority and Fed Ex Ground next business day, all instruments are carefully packed utilizing new shipping materials, all instruments are insured by Heritage Insurance. All parcels are flat rate shipped and are the same price for all buyers in the domestic USA, international shipping is also flat rate for anywhere in the world. The price is based on the cost of new shipping materials, boxes, bubble wrap, tape and labor and has nothing to do with where you are or your ability to pick it up in person. It is not in our business model to offer in person demonstrations of instruments or in person pickup, both of these things take an employee and extra time. If you have a limit as to what you want to spend on shipping please factor this into you instrument offer as we accept reasonable offers on most items. If an item doesn’t allow a lower offer it’s because it’s already been discounted and already at its lowest price. We recommend that you don’t chose an instrument based on shipping cost alone as there are more important issues all of which we have well covered. I might point out that all of our guitars come with professional detailing and set up, this has real value and keeps one from getting inferior work from an unqualified retail establishment.
