An Early Example with Scalloped Braces
Very Low Action
No Cracks and all Original
A very fine early J-185, it's been played a lot and has tons of the typical Gibson finish crazing on the neck, top and sides. The finish on the back of the neck is extremely worn and the top has areas of major wear around the soundhole and next to the pickguard, while the back and sides are clean. The earlier J-185s, until some time in 1955, have scalloped braces and thus lighter weight and more open tonally. This guy hasn't been played in decades yet sounds fantastic; with a little breaking in it will be amazing.

Our "Cash price" policy: unfortunately, the credit card companies support "swiped" charges in which the card is physically run through the card reader. Phone-in charges are charged at a much higher rate (to the seller) which can take quite a big chunk out of a high-dollar sale. Thus, for those call-in sales, let's discuss the issue at the time; hopefully, we can figure some way to deal with it.
