Description

Exceptionally fine and absolutely stunning 1968 Gibson J-45 in a rare and original tobacco sunburst finish. Most mid to late 60s J-45s came in a cherry sunburst finish and it is rare to see one in tobacco. This instrument is unique in the fact that although the serial puts it at the tail end of 1965 its features such as the bridge and finish put it between 1967-1968. Most Gibson aficionados know that serial numbers from the mid 60s – 70s are not the best way to date a guitar and thus we have dated this one to 1968. Overall this J45 is very, very clean and was babied most of its life showing no cracks or repairs whatsoever. 1 9/16th nut width, slim C shaped neck, Brazilian rosewood fingerboard and bridge. Pro setup and plays fantastic with plenty of room on the adjustable saddle to come up or down. This is a no excuses vintage J-45 that would suite a collector or player very well. Comes complete with a non original hardshell case.
