Natural, crack free and charming with early features from Gibson’s golden era. Has a tapered headstock, small pickguard, skinny braces and a dark (almost black) Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard and bridge along with a wide grained Sitka Spruce top that will fool wood nerds into thinking it’s Adirondack. But, old growth Sitka aged for over 70 years with equally old Honduran Mahogany back, sides and neck. This has that bigger 50’s neck profile (not huge) and the rich complex tone of legends.
We might suggest that this era of Gibson acoustics are priced like pre-CBS Stratocasters 20 years ago. They have continued to rise in value over the last 40 years. In 1951 this was priced at $79.
The original tuner buttons have shrunk (we’ll put on repros) and the action is very low, and so is the saddle. It clean with no cracks. Consigned.
