This week has a trend going - pre-war instruments. This 1936 L-30 arrived with a mid-20s Gibson mandolin and a mid 20's Martin parlor guitar. A few hours later, a late 1800's Washburn parlor guitar walked in the door. This business never ceases to amaze me with odd streaks of unpredictable trends like this.

Like the others listed above, this is a well-preserved beauty that also plays very well and sounds great. The neck angle is nearly perfect, so the action is as good as any example out there.

The instrument appears to be all original with the exception of the strap button added to the neck heel.
Original frets show little wear. The pickguard is nicely intact. The tuners work well and are in excellent condition.

There is one apparent repaired crack on the back of the guitar. The cleats are visible through one of the F holes. The work was professionally done.

Overall, this is just about as nice an example of the L-30 that you'll find out there. Many have had the parts robbed, being that they are correct on higher end, more expensive Gibson archtops. Others have been played to death or were poorly maintained. If you are in the market, this might be your best bet!

Non original hardshell case included.
