Summary: One of the best-kept secrets in the vintage Gibson line, the L-4C is exceptionally comfortable to hold, and fast on the fingerboard. Introduced in 1949, the same year as the ES-175, the L-4C shares the same body shape and scale length as its electric cousin. But while its counterpart has an all-laminate body, the L-4C boasts a solid carved spruce top, which sounds terrific either amplified with a floating pickup or unplugged in the studio or living room.

Body: Spruce top, Maple back, Mahogany sides.

Neck: Mahogany with a Rosewood fingerboard, 24.75” scale length, 1 11/16” nut width, 19 frets, split parallelogram pearl inlays.

Pickups/Hardware: Replacement Kluson Deluxe white button tuning keys, replacement pickguard, Rosewood floating bridge, trapeze tailpiece, no electronics.

Cosmetics: This guitar that has wear that is consistent with an instrument from the ‘50s. It has various nicks, dings, and scratches throughout. It has tons of finish checking. Most of the fret wear is on the B string up to about the 7th fret (See Photos Please). Overall, it’s in great shape and it plays and sounds amazing.
