We don’t often see Gibsons of this era in this condition. It was brought in by a family member of its original owner, who kept it immaculately and kept it up beautifully too, saw to it that a correct set of improved repro tuners was put on when the plastic of the original buttons crumbled. The FON inside is a little odd, has no letter code, which means either very early 1950s or their rubber stamp was broken that day, but the pickguard (original!) and a few other details indicate mid-1950s. Regardless, it’s a most wonderful guitar, with a carved solid spruce top, original solid rosewood bridge, near-perfect original frets, and the volume and clarity of tone that can only come from a carved-top Gibson that’s sixty years old, give or take. Just set up right here in our own shop, feels just great, and all ready to go. Comes with high-class recent hard shell case. $1595 w/hsc
