2000 Gibson Les Paul Custom 1954 Reissue (1954 reissue) Ebony
Summary: This Gibson Custom Shop “Les Paul Custom” features an AlNiCo V staple P90 in the neck, P90 in the bridge, black finish, gold hardware and early 50s neck profile. The gold Bigsby is aftermarket but looks and feels at home on this beautiful Custom Shop instrument. It is in overall fantastic condition and has just been setup with low action and restrung with a new set of 10s by our in house guitar tech.
Body: Solid mahogany body with multi-ply w/b/w vintage tinted binding, black nitrocellulose finish and carved top.
Neck: Solid mahogany neck with early 50s full C profile, bound ebony fingerboard, pearl block inlays, split diamond headstock inlay, headstock binding, 24 ¾” scale length and 1 11/16” nut width.
Pickups/Hardware: AlNiCo V Staple P90 pickup in the neck position, P90 in the bridge, gold hardware, aftermarket Bigsby, ABR-1 bridge, gold Grover tuners, 3 way toggle, 2 volume, 2 tones and black knobs.
Cosmetics: This guitar is in great shape and shows no signs of abuse or major cosmetic flaws. There are some light pick scratches on the top, small scratches around the knobs and 2 small dents on the side. There are also some scratches on the back, minor buckle rash, wear on the back plastic cavity cover and some finish checking around some of the fret ends, back of headstock and where the fretboard meets the neck in some places.
Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has just inspected, setup and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10s. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functioning and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fingerboard with no dead spots or choking out. The Bigsby works smooth and keeps its tune very well.
