1956 Gibson Les Paul Custom

Black (of course), EX+ A really clean example of the most expensive solid body electric of the day. Back when a solid body guitar was new high tech and had only been made for seven short years.

This is from the estate of the original owner and is 100% original. Shows no cracks or wear. The original frets are in great condition. Has the original knobs, guard, strap buttons, tuners and nut. Shows no finish checking or buckle rash, just some tarnishing of the gold hardware.

The Les Paul Custom was one of the first guitars to have the new Tune-a-matic bridge that was patented the year before the LP Custom came out. Also the Alnico V staple pole neck pickup was the first pickup designed by Seth Lover when he was hired as an engineer at Gibson. See our video on this guitar.

We offer this with great pride as it appears to be the cleanest one on the market. A really rare example as it has no stories. Comes with the original pebbled black hard case with a strap and other case goodies. A gorgeous guitar in looks and tone. American Industrial Design sculpture and thus a collectible as such.
