1973 Gibson Les Paul Custom Ebony

Summary: This rare “fretless wonder”, Gibson Les Paul Custom is in fantastic condition and all original. With its gold hardware, all black finish and fully bound body, fretboard, and headstock the image and feel of these hard to come by instruments are unmatched!

Body: The defining Gibson mahogany body with a maple top has a five-ply binding around the top and back making for a very classic look.

Neck: Mahogany 50’s “C” neck profile with a fully bound ebony fretboard with bone nut and block inlays. This Les Paul Custom has the five-ply headstock binding and the large pearl headstock inlay. This Gibson has 22 frets, nut width-1 11/16”, scale length-24 ¾”

Pickups/Hardware: Has the two original patent number sticker pickups, all gold hardware, and the Gibson gold “waffle back” tuners.

Cosmetics: This Les Paul is in incredible shape and shows only minor wear for its age. There is only one small ding in the finish on the neck and the picking scratches one would expect to see on the top of a vintage instrument.

Playability: Gibson designed this guitar to have low frets for a unique playing experience, hence the name “fretless wonder”. There is little wear on the frets considering how low they were to begin with. It plays very well up and down the fingerboard with low action. We set this instrument up with a set of 10’s and it is ready to be played and loved.
